crushed gravel paths and pavement. 1 mile walk is flat; 5km fun run has

all 5km

There will be one aid station at the half mile point, and another aid
station at the turn around for the 5km (at approx 1.5 miles). Aid
stations will have water, and lots of holiday goodies. There will also
be post race treats at the finish. We doubt anyone will go hungry and
you’ll probably need to go run some more after the race to burn it all
off.
Parking: Runners
are responsible for their own parking and fees associated with this
event. If you are parking on side streets, please be respectful of any
neighbors and businesses, and bring change for parking meters if needed!

Wear some warm, insulated layers under that ugly sweater and maybe a
matching ugly hat! You’ll look fab!

Other FAQ’s:
1.
OMG! I
don’t have an ugly Christmas sweater and I can’t seem to find one. What
do I do?!
Ugly Christmas sweaters do seem to becoming more and more rare these days.
And with this race coming up, they are going to become more coveted each
year. I suggest you go to a local thrift shop or the Salvation Army, and
decorate it yourself. Have an “Ugly Christmas Sweater Making Party” that
only the cool people get invited to. Be creative, and have fun!
Get
inspired! Look for ideas.
2.
I don’t
celebrate Christmas. Can I still participate in this run?
Of course you can! People and ugly sweaters representing all faith (or no
faith) backgrounds are welcome!
3.
Can my pet
participate?
I’m sure your pet would look lovely in an ugly Christmas Sweater, (mine
does) but unfortunately for safety reasons there are no pets allowed.
4.
Are baby joggers, bikes, or wagons allowed on the course?
Due to liability reasons, no baby joggers, bikes, strollers, or wagons
are allowed on the race course. However, we do allow the use of devices
with individuals with CP or other neuromuscular diseases. If you have
any questions please contact the Cerebral
Palsy Association of Colorado Springs at 719-638-0808.
Are there awards? Yes!
People wearing particularly ugly sweaters are eligible for
special awards to be given after the race.
Is there chip timing, jet
fly-overs, marching bands, professionally certified distances
measured by laser guided GPS satellites orbiting the Earth? No. The
focus is on fashion!
What kind of person would put on
such an unusual event? A very socially maladjusted nutcase, given
to delusions of grandeur. For more information, and more race updates,
